Description

My client is a leading manufacturer of metal products which are used across a wide range of industries, and is part of a truly global business. Due to an internal promotion, we are working closely to appoint their next Production Planner / Scheduler / Controller. Based close to the Cambridgeshire Hertfordshire boarder, this company is able to offer an outstanding financial package (circa £50k) and career progression opportunities.

Once you have developed a strong understanding of their varied and complex manufacturing processes, you will be responsible for:

  • Producing and delivering production plans based on both actual and predicted orders;
  • Driving efficiencies within the production departments;
  • Ensuring the effective flow of materials through the different manufacturing processes;
  • Encouraging and developing the culture of following best practices and EHS requirements;
  • Working with the Operations Manager to develop both the team and individuals

Ideally you should have previously used LEAN tools and Continuous Improvement methodologies including route cause analysis. By analysing production data together with forecasts will help to ensure production schedules are created and delivered to meet customer requirements whilst reducing raw material stock carried by the business.

It is likely that you already have client side experience and that you have worked within a manufacturing or production related environment where you have been responsible for Production Planning and/or Supply Chain. Working with stakeholders across the business including Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and both internal and external partners such as logistics and suppliers will be key to succeeding in this role. Individuals who have worked in sectors such as; automotive, aerospace, FMCG, pharmaceutical, chemical, and agro-chemical, mineral or metal processing, or refining related environments are likely to be of significant interest.

The role will also involve travel to customers and suppliers, so a full driving licence is desirable.

More information available upon application, quoting Reference 886705DH
