Senior Embedded Software Engineer- Permanent - High Wycombe

The Company

We are an expanding, publically traded company developing a unique mass consumer product targeted at the health and fitness market. Our products are based on patented algorithms and unique Integrated Circuits (ASIC) created by leading global research institutions, leverages IoT (internet of Things) technology to provide a unique highly-personalised user experience.

Having launched our new wearable product recently, we are now looking to expand our team: We require an enthusiastic and dynamic senior embedded software engineer to join our successful research and development team. This is an exciting opportunity for a top-notch engineer who enjoys a challenge to create a unique product in an exponentially growing Global market. Successful candidates will join a friendly, start-up environment, with plenty of autonomy to innovate and develop their skills in the up-and-coming wearable products sector.

Your Background

Suitable candidates will need to demonstrate essential skills/experience with:

  • Extensive C/C++ development experience in an embedded environment.
  • Ability to write Optimised, high-performance code with No OS and small memory footprints. (DSP or ARM-based experience counts!)
  • Knowledge of peripherals - especially Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) will be highly prized.
  • Understanding of Electronics - particularly, low-power digital electronics.
  • ARM-based architectures (Cortex M4 in particular).
  • Knowledge of peripherals (Bluetooth, BTLE, SPI, USB, ACC)
  • At Least 2 years' experience in a relevant area.
  • Be able to generate highly reliable code - suitable for mass production.

Candidates would benefit from having the following skills/experience however these are not essential:

  • Medical devices (non-invasive optical and electrical sensing devices).
  • Mobile OS experience (IoS and Android) will be highly valued.
  • MATLAB or Digital signal processing

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a unique embedded product from the concept stage
  • Contribute to the future roadmap of a unique IoT product in a friendly, start-up environment.
  • Provide high level product technical support where required. This may include liaison with suppliers, internal departments and end customers.

The role requires the candidate to be self motivated, enthusiastic, willing to learn and trustworthy.
