We are a family run Sheet Metal Fabrication business located in Biggleswade and have a requirement for a Production Office Assistant to join our business on a permanent basis.
The role will see you helping with Estimating, Cad Drawing of Laser-Cut Parts, the Loading of Legacy Parts onto the MRP System, also assist with processing Purchase Orders from customers and turning them into works orders for the production team, it will also involve issuing purchase orders to suppliers.
You must be familiar with outlook, word and excel and should have experience of dealing with suppliers and have a good telephone manner.
This role is a practical and hands-on position and requires a high level of manufacturing knowledge and experience preferably gained within the Sheet Metal industry.
You will be responsible for:
·Liaising with New and Existing customers
·Working with your team on a daily basis to ensure that the processes are diligently carried out to help with the completion of sales orders on time and to dates acknowledged to customers
·Identifying any issues that compromise completion of orders which must be highlighted to the Production/Planning Directors and a resolution found.
·The health & safety and working environment within the factory.
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications required:
·A time-served apprentice with an HNC in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, and will have worked in an environment that includes precision machined/ manufactured components or similar environment.
·Production and modification of single line process drawings, such as PFDs and P&IDs
·Production of fabrication/assembly drawings
Essential requirements:
·Experience with 2D AutoCAD software
·Excellent communication, problem solving & interpersonal skills
·Keen attention to detail
·Team player
·Knowledge of manufacturing processes and implementation of improvements
