Description

Draughtsman / Draughting Engineer

Based: St Neots, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £30,000 - £44,000 plus benefits

I am working exclusively with my manufacturing client based in St Neots, who are part of a much larger multi-national organisation, to recruit an experienced Draughting Engineer to join their in-house team.

Based in the Fluid Power division, this role will be focused on the development of designs and assembly drawings of hydraulic systems which can be manufactured using the company's current and future processes.

You will be interpreting customer engineering drawings and designing solutions to meet specific requirements, creating engineering standards, specifications and relevant technical information for products to be manufactured to.

This role is based at their site in St Neots, Cambridgeshire which is easily accessible from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire because of its proximity to the A1, A421 and A428. Free onsite parking, covered bike and motorbike storage, and showering facilities on site.

We are seeking someone with a strong engineering drawing or draughting background. Candidates must be able to produce detailed engineering drawings which can be used for manufacturing using CAD (ideally Creo, but training can be provided if you are used to other CAD software packages).

Previous knowledge of Fluid Power / hydraulic / pneumatic couplings, hoses and systems would be very beneficial but certainly not essential. Product training will be offered so you become familiar with the company's standardised designs and processes.

Those looking for more responsibilities in the future could take ownership of writing and updating company standards, material specifications, releasing of drawings and involvement with ISO9001 auditing.

In return they are able to offer an attractive salary DOE plus good benefits package including 33 days annual holiday (inc. 8 Statutory days), Life Assurance, and Pension (7% Company contributions & 3% sacrifice scheme for employees).

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm (37.5 hours per week) but there may be some flexibility for the right candidate.

More details are available on request.

When applying for this role, please indicate your current salary (plus benefits package), minimum salary required, notice period and your reasons for wishing to move from your current company.
