Field Service Engineer

I am working closely with my global client, a leading designer and manufacturer of specialist capital equipment used for materials testing serving a wide range of industries, to find an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their in-house team of engineers.

You will be working with a number of their key clients who are based between Manchester and Leeds and the surrounding locality, so living in that area of the North West you will be well situated as you will be home-based and travelling to customer sites to carry out servicing, repairs and upgrade work.

You will have control of your diary and be able to schedule your own timetable and workload directly with the customers.

Applicants must have previous experience of working in a field service role on hydraulic equipment, ideally knowledge/experience of servo hydraulic and electromechanical systems.

Experience of test and measurement equipment is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will be given training on the company's products which will partly be delivered at their UK HQ as well as spending some time shadowing an existing Field Service Engineer if required.

This role can be surmised as one that is customer-driven and customer-focused. You must have strong interpersonal skills, good organisational and time management skills, be motivated and have the ability to work unsupervised.

This role is home-based and will mostly be covering a localised service area but may involve further travel to visit customer sites on rare occasions, so a driving licence is essential.
