Happy Holidays
Office decorations and tree up and the elves lent a hand with preparing Xmas hampers for our loyal clients.
Two weeks to go until the jolly fellow in red arrives and plenty of vacancies still coming through our doors to ensure that the team is busy until the tinkling of distant sleighbells are heard!
Michele's Blog for December
Luckily for me, my loving yet mildly overbearing mother happens to be the brilliant managing director of Alliance Consulting Group Ltd and felt obliged to take me in as a young apprentice working for her!
In the last few weeks, I have been adapting to a new routine and schedule that allows me to balance my leisure time and studies.
This has meant sacrificing some of my precious leisure time..... which is a bit of an inconvenience as it interferes with Minecraft and Fortnite! (smh)
About a month into my work placement journey with my mother and her excellent team of Reda and Dan, I have begun to learn the fundamentals of not only recruitment and management, but also what being a working adult truly means. Office life, I might admit, may seem slightly boring or monotonous at times but it has certainly allowed me to exercise the analytical side of my brain. I observing the tasks which Maria, Dan and Reda do daily and then complete set tasks of my own to benefit and advance my knowledge of business. Deep down in my heart, I know that coming into work with my mother once a week is the best possible choice for me as 16-year-old Business student. Overall, I am excited to continue my course whilst observing and learning from the team behind Alliance Consulting Ltd and what they specialise in, all whilst attending college for another 2 years.
Maria’s October Blog
Not really my favourite time of year as I’m a summer girl through and through and hate the darker nights starting to roll in. But that aside, what a fabulous October it’s been! Fresh from finding out that we made the shortlist for the REC Awards in November and organising for my client’s HR Director for EMEA to attend with us, she then tasked me with recruiting an HR Generalist for their Austria operation. A text book exercise which ran like clockwork, I’m delighted that my candidate will be joining their team in December. Lot’s going on elsewhere as well with Quarter 4 looking set to be our best this year and oh of course……… shopping for a glittery dress and shoes for next month’s event.
More than £2,000 raised for Mental Health UK
On Saturday 9th September, we held our first fund raising event for Mental Health, a family fun day in Thurleigh, Beds.
The sun shone for us and our wonderful team of volunteers and were raring to go at 1pm. An ice cream van, bouncy castle, various pamper and crafts stations and kids karaoke ensured that the children were quickly emptying their parents' wallets and the air was soon filled with the pleasant clinking sound of pound coins dropping into the charity collection boxes circulating the club and gardens outside. Raffle ticket sales were astronomical, no doubt due to the amazing prizes received from a number of Bedford businesses who kindly sponsored our event. Hampers, wine, meals out, vouchers and beauty treatments on offer ensured that tickets were still being sold right up until the raffle was drawn at 8pm.
The fully stocked bar delivered the required result in that with a bit of Dutch courage, the adults were soon queuing up to drop their own pound coins in the karaoke stand's collection box and by the end of the night, the grand sum raised from the event was an incredible £2,121.72.
Our Managing Director, Maria Mazzei said "The best part was seeing people open up to our volunteers to talk about mental health and to share their stories. Events like Saturday really do help take down barriers surrounding a subject which is still somewhat taboo.
The day was a huge success and we are so proud and happy to have been asked repeatedly whether we will definitely hold the event every year"
