- Description
I am working closely with my client to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the on-site multi-disciplined and multi-skilled Engineering Team at their busy facility in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
The purpose of this role (as part of the Engineering Team) is to safely maintain the diverse range of equipment on site, both planned preventative and corrective, in order to facilitate the safe and efficient operations of the business.
As the Mechanical Technician you will be responsible for ensuring that all site mechanical systems are operated, maintained, diagnosed and repaired in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
We are looking for candidates with excellent engineering skills, knowledge and experience of a wide range of equipment and mechanical systems.
We are particularly keen to engage with candidates who have previously worked within a high-risk manufacturing environment and/or production facility which requires extensive documentation of actions in sectors such as food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, nuclear, chemicals, oil & gas, agro-chemicals, resins, pigments, or similar industries which require significant amounts of documentation.
This role covers a full range of activities, including:
- Installation, testing, maintenance and operation of mechanical systems, machinery and equipment on site
- Ensure all facilities and equipment are safe to use by following quality and EHS policies
- Reporting any equipment or performance issues to the Engineering Manager
- Facilitate plant modification work as required
- Inspection and testing of equipment and the completion of supporting documentation
This is a challenging role; the successful applicant will be flexible, determined and self-motivated, with experience of routinely documenting all actions and activities. Candidates must hold a recognised mechanical qualification / completed an engineering apprenticeship. Previous experience of a maintenance management system would be beneficial, as would experience of permit to work systems.
This role is being offered with a very attractive salary and benefits package within a company with an excellent reputation for developing their staff and facilitating clear career progression opportunities.
