A quieter end this year to Quarter 2 so I have been busy working further on business strategy until the next tsunami of vacancies arrives! So, how do Recruiters busy themselves when they have filled all their vacancies? ..... They go networking :) Given that we have been short listed as finalists in the SME Bedfordshire Awards 2024, I took the opportunity for Alliance Consulting to join the Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce. We are looking forward to getting to know some of our fellow members at the summer reception barbeque next week and at the Awards night on the 4th July. Eeeek, I still haven't bought a new dress! Dan and I also decided to visit Birmingham last week to attend the Smart Manufacturing and Engineering Week exhibition. It was a great opportunity to meet up with clients we have worked with previously and also foster some new relationships as well. We look forward to visiting the NEC again later this year for the PPMA show. On a personal note, I am gearing up for a total hip replacement at the end of next week (gulp) Getting older isn't nice anyway but osteo arthritis is brutal. I'm looking forward to becoming "bionic woman" as my colleagues have taken to calling me and to finding a new lease of life post surgery. So, that will be me attending the SME Business Awards on crutches - How on earth will I make it onto the stage if we are announced as Winners!!!! Watch this space :)
